Bali is a reasonably priced holiday destination with loads of fun kids’ activities on offer. Take the stress out of keeping your young troops entertained with these suggestions.


Kids’ activities in and around Kuta


The whole family will love the slides and pools at Waterbom Bali water park at Kuta Beach.

Charge up your camera and dance on the ceiling at Upside Down World.

Rip Curl School of Surf runs one on one surfing lessons for children under 13 from its branches at Legian, Jimbaran and Sanur.

The Pirates Bay at Nusa Dua is a fabulous beach park shaded by trees, with a pirate ship and tree houses for kids to play on, plus games and activities. Parents can relax on beach chairs or in the café.

Take a pony ride at Bali Equestrian CentreCanggu. Children over seven can join the riding tours, and the centre also has a restaurant and playground.

The Devdan Show is a cultural spectacular with dazzling costumes, dance, acrobatics and stage effects. It’s suitable for all ages.

Bali Safari & Marine Park is about the same distance either way from Ubud and Kuta. Children of all ages will love the safari vehicle tours to see wild animals, like zebra and rhinoceroses, roaming the parklands. Cool off in the adjoining water park, or join one of the night safaris. The restaurant is beside the big cat enclosure, so you can literally lunch with the lions!


Kids’ activities in and around Ubud


Maha Restaurant in Ubud is a nice spot to unwind and feed the family. The little ones will love patting and feeding the bunnies that roam the gardens

Pondok Pekak Library in Ubud is a non profit centre that has classes and activities for kids and adults. Kids can try fruit carving, playing the gamelan, dancing, painting, and making traditional crafts. Adults can take jewellery making, painting, music and language classes. About an hour north of Ubud, the Bali Treetop Park is a great day out, suitable for all ages over four. Harness up and zip through the treetops on the 12 Flying Foxes, or try the suspended bridges, flying swings and Tarzan Jumps. The park is near the iconic lakeside Ulan Danu Temple.
